Tips for Creating a Better Life in 2013
By Corinne McLaughlin
Here are some
inspirational ideas and techniques that I practice daily to deepen my
spiritual growth and enrich my service to the world:
1.
Align your
will with a higher spiritual purpose –
and continually
re-affirm your intention to engage in some form of service to others, as
this increases your happiness exponentially.
2.
Slow down consciously
as everything around us is
speeding up today – focus your attention in the present moment
and let go of the past and future.
3.
Unplug from technology
and take some quiet time to
reconnect with your Spirit and nurture your inner Self.
4.
Connect with nature each
day—stop
and drink in the beauty of a tree, a sunset or the wind caressing your
skin.
5.
Control your media diet—especially
negative input – but pay close attention to the big picture and
significant changes underway.
6.
Practice open-mindedness
to new ideas, experiences
and people – expect surprises!
7.
Develop flexibility and
adaptability
by avoiding getting locked
into old patterns – try something new every day so you can be ready for
anything.
8.
Observe any reactions of
fear or anger in yourself
– take a few minutes for some calming, deep breaths and practice
detachment from what triggered you.
9.
Appreciate or inspire
each person you meet today
– make their life a little
brighter and your life will be uplifted too.
10. Look for ways to
nurture a spirit of community – find new sources of mutual support
to help you weather the upcoming changes.
11. Love and
forgive yourself and others for any harm caused – it will free you
from the chains that bind you.
12. Focus on
the new world growing everywhere—the many innovative and
positive solutions to problems created by ordinary people will
re-inspire your
faith in humanity!
