A Love Letter to the New Generation
by Corinne McLaughlin
I love your collaborative spirit and the commitment to values that you bring to your work, your relationships and your creative endeavors! I love your socially conscious approach that looks for jobs with meaning and with a larger purpose. I appreciate your global orientation and the way you’ve helped the world become more connected through social media and the sharing economy.
I also love your courage to experiment and your entrepreneurial spirit—finding innovative ways to meet specific needs in our society by doing meaningful work. Despite the economy, wars and terrorist threats, your optimism and passion for creating a better future is inspiring!
I see each new generation as a forward step in human evolution, equipping souls with the specific energy and gifts that are needed for the world and the specific challenges it faces. I want to learn from younger generations—both a new consciousness and new skills like social media.
As a member of the Baby Boomer generation who came of age during racial riots and widespread drafts to fight the Vietnam War, I have some inkling of how it feels to face a world being torn apart by so many immense crises. I understand your interest in wanting to help address these crises, but also your desire to live a happy, normal life. I, too, wanted the older generation of my time to listen to my generations concerns and new ideas, so I want to do my part to listen to your voices today.
This section of our website will be dedicated to new generation voices—to both inspire and surprise you—and perhaps give you a new sense of hope for the future of our world! We’ll start with the following video from Ginger Young on our staff—a shining example of the new generation. Check back here later to see our new offerings.
