Meditation on Transforming Fear

by
Corinne McLaughlin

With the economic and other crises impacting us today, it’s helpful to directly address issues of fear that might arise:

bullet Begin your meditation by taking a few deep breaths to relax and center yourself.

bullet Invite the presence of your soul or higher self and align with the great Masters and Teachers of humanity.

bullet Visualize white light pouring in through the top of your head to cleanse and balance your mind.

bullet Become mentally detached from the emotional aspect of fear--just observe, rather than suppress or inhibit--the fear.

bullet Explore the deeper origins of your fear in the past, so that it will not rule your life in the present; notice how circumstances are different today.

bullet Visualize a flow of love into your solar plexus to calm your emotions—love and fear cannot co-exist in the same psychic space as they are different vibrations.

bullet Work on controlling your imagination, seeing it become calmer and more balanced, so that paranoia doesn’t take hold and start expanding.

bullet Trust that you are being inwardly guided by your soul and nothing can happen to you except what is ultimately for the best.

bullet Realize the true issues at stake and develop a willingness to learn from whatever happens.

bullet Meditate on how every experience can lead to increased knowledge and development, and greater usefulness in service.

bullet Invoke the spiritual fire of courage to strengthen you.

bullet Visualize acting “as if” you are unafraid and soon this will become the reality.

bullet Close with an affirmation to strengthen you, such as:  “I trust God to guide me in all times and situations so I can relax and be a channel for God’s love and wisdom.”
