Meditation on Visionary Leadership
By Corinne McLaughlin

Read each line of this meditation and then close your eyes to inwardly experience what’s suggested before reading the next line:

Begin by taking a few deep breaths to breathe in peace and stillness, and let go of any tensions or worries.

Focus your attention in the present moment, releasing concerns about the past and releasing concerns about the future.

Visualize a bright sun just above your head, which radiates the light of your soul or higher self to you. See this light flowing into your whole being, energizing and inspiring you.

Affirm your clear intention to develop yourself more fully as a visionary leader and dedicate yourself to living in alignment with your deepest values.

Imagine that you have an inner compass that inwardly keeps you aligned with your core values and integrity.

As a true visionary leader embodies a synthesis of will, heart and mind, see the light of your soul strengthening your spiritual will and a higher sense of purpose.  Reflect on your higher purpose and how you can express it more courageously in the world to meet true needs.

Now see the light of your soul filling your heart, opening your heart to greater compassion for others, for your family, your friends, and co-workers. Expand this love to embrace all of life.

Now see the light of your soul illuminating your mind, enabling you to see the big picture, so you can become more intuitive, more creative and wiser.

Ask your soul to provide a clear vision for your life and work….

See clearly the next step you need to take to express this vision effectively.

If you’re willing, make an inward commitment to do this.

When you’re ready, take a few deep breaths and bring your attention back to the room you’re sitting in and slowly open your eyes. Make a few notes to help remember what you’ve experienced.
