The Spiritual Lessons of Crises

Life on Earth is a “programmed learning environment,” uniquely tailored to each individual, society or the planet as a whole. We learn lessons:

·        When we study the Book of Life

·        When we are open to learning and growing

·        When pain sensitizes us to the needs and pain of others

·        When we “repent” or rethink our approach

·        When we change our values, attitudes and behavior

·        We grow towards greater love, cooperation, responsibility and understanding of our place in the universe.

What is An Event?

·        An end result of the intersection of different frequencies of energy—the culmination of a vast combination of causes.

·        The outer explosion or expression of inner, or hidden forces.

Symbolism, Meaning and Significance of Events

     Events can be interpreted on four levels:

1.      The level of information – the facts and data, our usual human response

2.      The level of symbology – where the symbols of names, places and events tell us about the inner forces and energies at work;

3.      The level of meaning – what the events mean to us when seen through the eyes of love and compassion; the relationship of the part to the greater whole;

4.      The level of significance – how the event relates to fulfillment of the Divine Evolutionary Will and the outworking of the purpose for our planet.

Questions for Interpreting Events

Let go of the usual thoughtforms, opinions and partisanship, and work to establish the position of the “objective observer.” Ask yourself the following questions:

·        What are the inner forces at work here behind the scenes?

·        Do the names involved in this event offer any clues to its symbolic meaning?

·        Are there other people or events that this event seems synchronistically tied to?

·        What is this event teaching all of us through the experience of the people involved? What do we need to let go of?

·        Can we understand the meaning behind all of this by compassionately identifying with each of the actors involved and seeing the world from their perspective?

·        What is the underlying call for love in this crisis?

·        How does this event serve a positive purpose in helping humanity’s evolution in some way, fulfilling the Divine Plan?
